EARLY VOTING NOW UNDERWAY FOR DEC. 2 RUNOFF!

You may vote in the runoff, even if you did not vote in the November 4th General Election.

The runoff between Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss and Democratic challenger Jim Martin and other runoffs, including contests for the Georgia State Appeals Court and the Public Service Commission’s District 4, are set for Dec. 2, 2008.

Early voting for the runoff election is now underway at select locations in Metro Atlanta Counties. No reason is needed to vote early, but photo ID is required.

Here are Early Voting times and locations for Metro Atlanta:

CLAYTON COUNTY
8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Board of Elections & Registration at 121 S. McDonough St., Jonesboro. 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 24-26 at six locations. Voters can request an absentee ballot from their county registrar’s office through the close of business on Nov. 26. 770-477-3372.

COBB COUNTY
8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Board of Elections & Registration at 736 Whitlock Ave., west of the Marietta Square. Nov. 24-26, voters can go to five locations. 770-528-1000.

DEKALB COUNTY
8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday through Nov. 26 at the main elections office at 4380 Memorial Drive. 404-298-4020.

FULTON COUNTY
8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at: Fulton County Government Center (downtown), 141 Pryor St.; North Service Center, 7741 Roswell Road; and South Service Center, 5600 Stonewall Tell Road. Voting will continue at these locations 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 24-26. 404-730-4000.

GWINNETT COUNTY
9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday through Nov. 26 at the main elections office at 455 Grayson Highway, Lawrenceville. 678-226-7210.
 


 

VOTE ON ELECTION DAY, TUESDAY DECEMBER 2, 2008

Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on Election Day.

If you are in line to vote by 7:00 pm, you must be allowed to vote.

You will need one of the six forms of acceptable ID to vote. For Voter ID requirements, see the list below.

VOTER ID

If you are voting In-person on Election Day, you will be required to show one of the following six forms of photo ID:

  • A Georgia driver’s license, even if expired
  • Any valid state or federal government issued photo ID, including a free Voter ID Card issued by your county registrar or Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS)
  • Valid U.S. passport
  • Valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. Government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority, or other entity of this state
  • Valid U.S. military photo ID
  • Valid tribal photo ID.

If you go to your polling place without an acceptable form of photo identification, you can still vote a provisional ballot. You will have up to two days after the election to present appropriate photo identification at your county registrar’s office in order for your provisional ballot to be counted.

If you do not have one of the six forms of photo identification you can go to your county registrar’s office or to any Department of Driver Services office, and get your free Georgia Voter Identification Card, present it to your county registrar’s office within two days after the election, and your provisional ballot will be counted.

If you simply forgot your photo identification and time permits, you can retrieve it, return to the polling place, and vote.
